The Trust of the Collared Doves
A Friendship Forged Over Seeds
My relationship with the collared doves in my garden is one of my most treasured. It all started when one of the parents tragically disappeared. The remaining parent, distraught, began to follow me constantly around the garden until I finally realised what it needed - food. From that day on, a remarkable trust was built.
The same collared dove began bringing its babies, year after year, introducing them to me and chasing me until I spread seed around the garden for them. It was an incredible demonstration of trust and instinct. Now, with a new mate, the tradition continues, and they bring their new broods for seeds every season.
Capturing a Moment of Innocence
This particular photograph captures one of those beautiful young collard doves. It's a quiet moment that encapsulates the look I'm given when they want food. When you hang this print in your home, you're celebrating the simple, persistent magic of nature and the unique friendships that can develop right outside your window.
